Nutritional and Integrative Health for Mental Health

Research demonstrates that what you eat impacts how you feel. I am certified in Nutritional and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Professionals.

Mental health and wellness can be greatly improved with a shift in our relationship to food, movement and nature

6 pillars of nutritional psychiatry

  1. Be Whole, Eat Whole: eating whole foods with lots of fiber
  2. Eat the Rainbow: including many different fruits and vegetables
  3. The Greener the Better: eat lots of greens
  4. Notice How Your Body Feels After You Eat
  5. Consistency and Balance are Critical
  6. Avoid Anxiety Triggering Foods

I will work with you to explore how you take care of yourself in sleep, movement, breathe work, food preparation and food choice. We will delve into your relationship with nature and enhance your understanding of the importance of this connection for optimal health.

I will assist you to better understand your relationship with food and movement.
We will examine what brings meaning into your life: What feeds your soul?

adverse mental health symptoms Linked To ULTRA-PROCESSED FOOD CONSUMPTION

Research demonstrates that people who consume high amounts of ultra-processed foods report significantly more adverse mental health symptoms. Ultra-processed foods hugely contribute to inflammation, so the connection between diet, inflammation, mental health and decision-making is all interconnected. It is difficult to avoid processed foods! I remind people to go back to the basics when deciding what to eat. Think about choosing real unpackaged foods as much as possible and reading labels diligently to avoid ingredients you don’t know or understand. These are great starting points for reclaiming a healthy diet.
